Danica Rubenstein is the Director of Attendance for Monongalia County Schools, Morgantown, WV, and Acting President of the West Virginia Attendance Directors Association. She serves on the planning committee for Monongalia County Juvenile Drug Court as well as the Monongalia County Schools Assistance and Referral Team. The team connects school staff, at-risk students, and families with outside resources to contribute to student success. She has been a member of the West Virginia State Advisory Group for approximately 17 years as well as the state's Disproportionate Minority Contact Work Group. Previously, Ms. Rubenstein served for 10 years as a juvenile probation officer for Monongalia County. She is a licensed certified rehabilitation counselor. Ms. Rubenstein earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology from Fairmont State University. She holds two master's degrees from West Virginia University—one in school counseling and the other in rehabilitative counseling. Ms. Rubenstein also has received a leadership certification from Marshall University.
